International Conference on Information Society and Information Technologies is the second international conference held in Slovenia in Dolenjske Toplice . The conference is organised by the Faculty of information studies in Novo mesto and has established itself as an important Slovenian ICT research conference.
the second ISIT conference (ISIT10) provides a leading forum for presentation of original research results, as well as exchange and dissemination of innovative, practical development experiences. The main objective of the conference is to explore the latest findings on reciprocal relationship between information society and information technologies. The focus focus of the ISIT10 are the following emerging topics:
Social media
Data mining & Intelligent services
Web technologies & Business informatics
The conference covers all aspects of social media, data mining, and web technologies and business informatics including algorithms, software and systems, and applications. Papers describing advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques and general survey papers indicating future directions are encouraged.
Besides the technical program, the conference will feature workshops, tutorials, panels and ISIT Business ICT Forum.
Paper Submissions
High quality papers in the field of social media, data mining, web technologies and business informatics areas are solicited. Particularly careful consideration will receive original papers exploring new directions. Papers that have already been accepted or are currently under review for other conferences or journals will not be considered for ISIT10.
Paper submissions should be limited to a maximum of 10.000 characters (approx. 6 pages, 1600 characters per page). All papers will be reviewed by the Program Committee on the basis of technical quality, relevance to the given topic, originality, significance, and clarity. Authors should avoid using personally identifying information in the text of the paper. A Submission Form will be announced on the ISIT10 website.
the accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings. A selected number of the ISIT10 accepted papers will be invited for publication in expanded and revised form of the journal published by Springer-Verlag. Additional information will be available on the ISIT10 site.

Topics related to data mining including design, analysis and implementation of data mining theory, systems and applications are of interest. These include, but are not limited to the following areas: data mining foundations, mining in emerging domains, methodological aspects and the KDD process, integrated KDD applications, systems and experiences.
Topics related to web technologies and services, business informatics including innovative approaches for the design of business information systems and their impact on the transformation of business processes, enterprises, and markets.
The ISIT 2010 doctoral consortium
Doctoral consortium will provide an opportunity for graduate students to explore their research interests in an interdisciplinary workshop, under the guidance of a panel of distinguished experts in the field. The Doctoral Consortium on reciprocal relationship between information society and information technologies is intended to bring together Ph.D. students to discuss their research in an international forum. The Doctoral Consortium will provide students with an opportunity to:
Present their research work in a relaxed and supportive environment
Receive feedback and suggestions from peers and experienced faculty
Gain an overview of the breadth and depth of enterprise systems engineering research
Obtain insight into directions for enterprise systems engineering research taken by other doctoral candidates
Discuss concerns about research, supervision, the job market, and other issues
Network with peers and future colleagues
Thus, the Consortium will help shape ongoing and future research projects aimed at social media, data mining & intelligent services and web technologies & business informatics, will promote scholarship and networking among new researchers in this emerging interdisciplinary area, and will expose these promising young researchers to the larger global community.
